Why You Get What you Get… and What Stops Most People (2 New Videos)

This first video is my personal take on the "Law of Attraction" without all the extra crap that people want to add onto it (to make themselves feel important instead of giving you the straight story about what it is and how it really works).

In this second video, I discuss the single biggest factor that stops most people from getting what they want (and at the same time dispel an idea that many self-help gurus and motivators try to foist upon you that your fears are not real and you should just ignore them).

My purpose with both of these videos is simply to make you think a little bit, open your eyes, and hopefully either remind you of what you already know (and encourage you to use it) or give you that one little piece of information that allows all the pieces to finally fall into place.

Have a great weekend!

Jim

  • Wow! Jim is really a great *Motivator*.
I feel motivated whenever I watch your video.

    Its really awesome. :)

  • Positively LOVED the video on overcoming fear.

Fear is definitely a big bugaboo and I am glad to hear someone say that fears need to be acknowledged and dealt with rather than ignored and denied. Denying the fear is a recipe for disaster in my experience.

I have dealt with LOTS of fear in my life. Now, I am afraid you might think this is a little CRAZY, but I literally used to be afraid to simply exist. Seriously. But now, at the grand old age of 50, I am not afraid of hardly anything. It feels wonderful. Ridding myself of constant fear has been extremely liberating. It took me years, but arriving at the other side is better than winning the lottery. Really.

Jim, I always find your advice and wisdom refreshing. Thank you for sharing and may the universe reward you with that beautiful warm fuzzy feeling inside that comes with the accomplishment of overcoming fear.

    Cheers! Lorraine Grula

  • Hi Jim,
Good stuff! You’re spot on. FEAR itself is not the enemy. It’s the emotions we attach to these perceived outcomes. The answer: self-esteem which leads to self-belief which leads to self-effectiveness. Which is why you’re the man – you give people the confidence (and the tools) …

  • The videos on Expectancy were the jolt I needed to wake up and start over again. I sometimes fall back to my old habits from time to time due to setbacks. But, I am on the right track again and just wanted to thank you.

  • Thank you Jim! You speak into my heart!

I used to fear of failing…However, the more I fear, the more I failed! Good thing is I believe in my success, the more I do, the less fear, I felt, and the more confidence I build up…

You are right, we should shift our focus from FEAR to production, do what we should do and known the fear is enough.

  • Hi Jim:

I enjoyed both of your videos. I watched the original video on this two years ago when it first came out. I purchased your Minisite Creator and Info Marketing Bootcamp long ago and also Virtual PC and Windows so I could use them on my Mac.

The one point I was missing and it probably is true of most people, is to find something that fired my passion around some mini-sites and affliate marketing. That was the missing piece in this that kept everything at arms length.

I went into meditation and found a deep-seated goal whose embers had long been lying dormant, but which I had been working on for forty years in the background. I was here to make a difference and this is what had been driving me to the Internet for the past fifteen years. This was the one thing which had been driving me my whole life — and it is not about money, things or being somebody special — it was about being ME.

The second missing component was gratitude for everything I have — the good, the bad and that positive feeling I can be whatever I passionately desire. Every experience had brought me to the point I am at. Now, I just keep feeling this deep love for everything in my life and it is amazing what turns up each day toward my goal. There is nothing I really want any more. This journey is greater than any goal that lies ahead in my path. I just published my second book this year, have created a beautiful web page that is being accessed by numerous companies, three DVDs have been made and we are developing a newsletter on new water technologies.

Yes, it is work, but I love every minute of it, my wife and I have a wonderful life in a beautiful place and every day is exciting.

When the Dalai Lama was asked what waas the happiest day of his life, he smiled and said, “Now”.

Thank you, Jim, for being an inspiration for so many in the Law of Attraction.

    Since that epiphany

  • Hi Jim, I have been following your growth for years and agree 100 % with your take on how to conquer fear. My wife and I are bringing the top “original” Oldies music legends to the West Coast next year from New York for a 7 day Private Party up-close-and-personal cruise on the newest Carnival ship, the Splendor out of Long Beach California. We have invested heavily for this event to come off, having the local 1450theboomer.com Oldies radio station to to promote it and to offer up a contest to a lucky person to win a boarding pass for the themselves and their guest and doing tons of marketing both on-ground and online. We kicked off the ad campaign right when Wall Street dumped and now everyone around us is fearful that we can’t pull it off. My wife and I are more determined than ever to make this happen so folks have a great event to look forward to and I agree with your two questions brought up about what and how have/are/will we grow from the experience. GREAT questions. You are a born mentor and educator and I, for one applaud your work.
    /Brad.

We appreciate you sharing this insight and good concept and we are interested. We plan to explore more in the near future with our associates, right after we have completed what we must do on our punch lists. Thanks again for sharing. We look forward to meeting you in Atlanta at Armand Morin’s Big Seminar!

    Hi Jim,

The videos above have caused me to repond with comments to a website for the first time in the many years I have been looking at “self-help” things on the web. You hit the target on so many things with brevity, clarity and candor. Great stuff. Great motivation! I no longer will “hope” that I can achieve my goals, but I will “expect” to reach them. Many fears on the road ahead, but your videos lit up the road and have shone me a path.

    Thanks,
    Rick

    Jim;

Your e-mail with this particular set of videos could not have possibly come at a better time. Sometimes hearing something simple, direct and correct makes all the difference. Thank you for sharing yourself and your experiences with us. You have saved a very big part of me that was going down in the tarpit of “what will happen if this new thing I try doesn’t work out the way I want to to?” You and your work are appreciated.

    Hi Jim,

First of all thanks so much for educating everyone on the “how to’s” of being and becoming more successful in business – whether it is online, on your own website or just plain life. I just viewed both of these videos and will view them repeatedly just to keep myself on target.

Best of all you are truly one of the most honest guys I have heard and seen in a long time. You always have something that can help anyone.

God Bless You & Your Family …thanks so much.

    Jim,
Just want to say you are really a great teacher and motivator. I’m currently going through your MSC v2.0 and am learning a lot. The videos on expectation and fear are great. Very practical and “real” for implementing into your daily life and goals.
I just have to say, you seem to be a very real, genuine person and hearing your story of picking yourself up and becoming as successful as you are now is very inspirational.
    Thanks!

  • Jim,
I don’t know what moved me more, the 2 videos or all the comments that followed. For me too, this came into my life at a very opportune time. I’ve been having a lot of negative thoughts lately. I find myself truly flustered as to what to do to get my business off the ground. But after listening to you, I beleive I have a great place to restart my efforts.
    Thank you, Sir!

  • [...] Interesting presentation, must see it yourself : Jim Edwards I Gotta Tell You. [...]

  • I have the DVD and the accompanying book. I do understand the main Laws dealt with in this work, (3) Of them.
That is what Jesus tried to put accoross to people during that period of human development.

Most of it is in the Bible but it appears as though Christianity teachings are failing to hit the nail on the head. This has left people existing by trial and error. In reality 95% are shooting in the dark in managing their live, hence, much suffering for humans on Earth.

I am willing to learn from others how you understand it and how you want to put it accross to the masses.

I know what I need to do and I am working on it, so your understanding will add to my knowledge of the The Law of Attrction and its sister Laws.

    Cheers

  • I loved the video on overcoming fear! Great stuff!

  • Hello Jim,

I have been following you for several years and have always admired your honesty. I have read and followed The Secret, and believe in the law of attraction. But a light bulb came into my head the way you explain positive affirmations i.e. The Attitude of Expectancy etc.

    Thank you very much Jim

  • charles switzer:

Jim, as always you are right on target.
I just finished a book “The One Command” by Asara Lovejoy.
She used expectancy also, then finished with gratitude.

  • Well now I am glad to be reminded of getting positive focus back on track, and need to continually do so daily, if not hourly.

Also, a note of experience on using the word “want” in the affirmation statements, proved to me to be wrong to do, even if stated positive, because the actual word “want” means “lack of,” or “always in a state of desire and never getting.” I realized this when experiencing the effect of the strong magnet Jim talked of, with emotional energy, whether positive or negative, and how I was getting exactly that… continual want, and never getting.

So I quite saying “I *want* this to happen,” and instead say: “I *desire* this,’ or even better yet, state it in the past tense, and with gratitude: “I’m so glad I already have this,” in order to attract more of that, whether it exists or not. I’ve found better results that way, and went through great anguish to realize this.

For me I’m always alone, and fear has not been to fear, but what has repeatedly held me back is needing working equipment that is supposed to be new, to not break down on me, and a habitable place to stay in to get my goals done. I can’t further human kind or develop my potential if I’m constantly stuck in the state of survival. I would think that’s the harder part… making things exist that don’t; where fears are just easily addressed with a mental mindshift. Nothing is created, just looked at differently. That’s the easier part.

When all else fails, and only “hope” seems to be left, it is good to be reminded of your “focus” still being there. My friend laughed at me when I told it her took me 3 tries to get through my ‘How to Focus’ book. I thought the irony of it was pretty funny myself, yet what happened. Thanks Jim.

  • Dorothy:

Thanks, Jim. I’ve been absolutely failing in the mortgage business, and listening to you, I now understand why — both my fear of being in a sales position, and the negative thoughts about myself as a loser just kept building and building on each other! I can now go in to work tomorrow EXPECTING to serve others and have great results!

  • [...] Jim Edwards posted a video about 6 weeks ago all about fear. (This is actually part 2 of a 2-part video.) [...]
