  • Jim, your words are so true. Too many times I think we look for an internet program that’s going to make us the most money without actually seeing if it solves anyone’s problem.

  • George Kedourie:

    adopting… adopting… Adopted!

    Thank you Jim!!

  • Jim,

You’re right. I knew that. But somewhere along the line, I lost it, I forgot it. As a young girl, I used to look at problems and think, “How can I make it different?”

All I can say is, thank you for reminding me of how to look at problems so I can help people and make money, too.

    Regards,

    Marie

  • Awesome, Jim! I love this video and I’m taking your quote and pasting it on my vision board, so I can constantly refer to it.

  • Yolanda:

    Thanks ever-so-much for the reminder.

  • Gregg Ponath:

Thanks for the lesson. As with the couple of videos of yours that I have watched so far, I really appreciate your “matter of fact” way and down to earth explanations as well as your obvious passion to help those of us who haven’t broken through yet. Thank you for that. You know, it’s funny in a way. In the Bible it says (btw, not mentioning this for the religion…just for the practical “law” in it) in Proverbs “..there is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death”. In other words, the world tends to usher us all down a path which is practically the polar OPPOSITE of what is required to actually achieve and succeed! It is the realization of that, and then the RETRAINING of one’s self that is the journey toward making it in life. Thanks for the refreshing way in which you communicate and point out just that.

  • Right on target once again, Jim! The hardest part is keeping on focus when all around you are sceaming gloom
and doom. Here’s something else we need to keep in mind in these times of near national panic: Sure, the Great Depression of the 1930’s was tragic…BUT…it also led to a period of great prosperity for those who kept their heads, those who innovated and those who made the best of the situation.

  • Hi Guys,

Thanks for the comments and kudos…I’m really glad you’re enjoying the video :-)

    RE: Jimm Crouse

You are 110% right! In fact (this is the history major in me coming out), some companies and individuals even got RICH during that time… either during "The Great Depression" or by positioning themselves well for when things got better (and then they cashed in when "things got better").

    Their secret?

Almost to a person they credit winning the "mental" game first while those around them were giving in to the popular notion that things were terrible.

Sure, everyone hit rough spots because of the terrain, but those with the right attitude prospered.

    Hey Jim

    How are things?
Can you tell me how you made the screen background of the PC monitor in your latest screen capture video on #1 skill sets?

    Thanks.

  • Jim,

So true… Good job at talking thru the concept. I’m getting my kids to listen to this presentation as a life lesson.

    As always , very informative.

  • John:

    Jim,

Spot on. When people are talking about all the “troubles” that are going on in the World, I simply point out that – as long as people are still spending money on something – the people that provide the solutions can still make it. More problems… more opportunities.

    John

  • Wonderful information! Most people have it backwards as you pointed out. Thanks for the reminder to train myself to see the opportunities in absolutely everything.

Jim you hit the nail on the head. I new that but never
    tryed it.

    Thank You

  • Will Hamilton:

    Jim,
Very well done and very accurate! It reminds me to start thinking “creatively” when I hear people complaining. I have to remind myself from time to time that there are those who just love to complain and they really wouldn’t do anything with the solution…because the solution doesn’t solve their problem – attention does.

Anyway, thanks again! Always enjoy learning from you!

  • Hi Jim

It really is a pleasure every time I hear you talk. Always the pearls of wisdom passed on in such an easy and common sense manner. You make is seem so simple! I’m a great fan.

    Thank you

  • Melemai:

Thank you for a fine video message. I think it’s hard for most people to think “outside of the box,” thereby finding themselves at a loss to change things. Your words of wisdom gives us all a “knock on the side of the head!” We need it.

  • Jim, As a 62 year old builder I have always given value even when people have said to me you should “charge more” but you know I always have work for my contractors and employees who do a great job. Consequently no agro from my clients and a happy work place.

If you have a moment have a look at my first site and give me some feedback. Its not returning on investment yet but I will learn how to do it properly some time! I’ll just keep putting in place all the new ideas.

    Loved the video,

    Bruce

  • Hi Jim

  • Hi Jim,

Another great video – It’s almost like getting ‘back to basics’.

Find what people are having problems with and offer a solution. It’s tried and tested and WORKS!

I’m just launching a new membership site that relates exactly to your video. I will be charging a very fair price for good quality information on little internet marketing problems that people want solving. (All done via video).

A small monthly fee – but recurring.

Keep knocking out these videos, I just love them and they really do inspire me!

    Cheers!

    ~ Peter Tremayne

  • Very well done. You get back tenfold when you give back.

    Howard

  • The video is a great pick-me-up and very well timed!

I can vouch for how easy it is to fall out of an airplane w/o a parachute. Had two such experiences!

    Cheers.

  • I think I heard this before, but you are right!

Common problems for people are not our problem, but a gold mine waiting for us to dig!

If we can connect both the problems and solutions, be get the profit.

However, When you say “fair profit”, m…that’s controversial…as long as most people agree, I think it is fair.

  • Hi Jim,
Great message. As you said, simple but nevertheless not always applied.
It really helped me ask myself if I am solving a severe problem with the products I am creating.
    Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
    Bettina L.

  • I just love your simplicity and generousity

  • You are a great example of what I’m trying to do in internet marketing. I bought your e-book: “How to Write & Publish Your Own E-book in as Little as 7 Days” and now I’m almost done writing my first e-book. Actually I started writing it before I got your book because I already knew what I wanted to do but I wanted some expert advice from successful business people first. I’m not disappointed. I enjoyed your book and now this website “I Gotta Tell You .com ” is further confirmation of my plans to do very similar to what you are doing! marketing-wise, not content-wise. You are a great example and mentor for me Jim! thanks Dave Puckett

  • Hello from beautiful Montana:

Thanks for coming from a common sense, fair viewpoint. It is right to make a fair profit. It is wrong to be so greedy that the profit comes before the people.

Just posted a great essay on my blog about this; http://www.AskAuntieArtichoke.com

Have a good day where ever you are in the world.

  • When are you going to do some more Friday Night Smackdowns?

  • I already knew that, lol. JK That is a simple way of putting it. Sell someone the answer to their problems. It seems so crazy that this is so easy. I will definitely put this into action.

  • Good work are always simple. Thanks for coming from a common sense, Great video………

  • Jim,
I really appreciate your candor and your efforts to share the attitude that a virtuous life of service to our fellow human beings is a worthy thing to do. I am just now getting started at online business efforts, and I am learning valuable lessons from you. Your video here, as well Joe Vitale’s interview with you, and your book “How to write an ebook in 7 days…” are all helping me to find a place of clarity amid the clamor and confusion of the online huba huba of “how to” noise. Thank you
