Thank You For Your Support!
Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers for my son-in-law and our family this holiday Season.
A LOT of you have been asking me to let you know how things turned out with Jon’s injuries suffered in Iraq as well as the Holiday gift idea request I made from everybody. (See www.IGottaTellYou.com/blog/ for past posts)
Well, I have some very good news to report:
Jon will be home tomorrow (12/20) for 2 weeks of leave from the hospital. He’s recovering from his wounds and has started physical therapy to try to regain use of his foot, which suffered severe nerve damage in the blast. We are very excited to have him home and he and I plan to smoke a turkey (or some other creature) on Monday!
We were so grateful for everyone’s suggestions and thoughts on what to send Jon’s entire company to brighten their Christmas day up a bit and let them know they are not forgotten. Your suggestions helped us figure out what we could do on such short notice to get something good into the mail in time.
To show you what we decided to do, my grandson, Johnnie, put together a little video for you. Even though he’s only 14 months old, he’s a chip off the old block when it comes to his Grandpa

Awesome video and very smart little boy, Johnny. Isn’t this what Christmas is all about? Sharing the love. You are a blessing Jim, thanks for being who you are! Merry CHRISTmas!
Terry Sachetti :
Merry Christmas Jim
Wow, that video was great, brought a tear to my eye. We pray everyday for our troops. We are blessed with having our Son home for Christmas also. I organized through mass email to all my friends and business associates a large care package event last summer and to our surprise hundreds of people and companies jumped on board to the point that my son said they thought it was Christmas in June. How could you not love these brave men and women?
My wife and I were in the Mortgage industry, stress were, we lived the good life, and now we have lost absolutely every thing, tried to switch gears and open a web site and lost the last we had via a designer who was great but dropped us like a rock when some thing went wrong in his life. That site was to help at least pay the bills, now it sits and I can not seem to fix it nor get it up so I could sell any products. To some this could be described as the worst Christmas in our lives. You know, it’s funny, I do not see it that way, well maybe my sons do, but really, I feel blessed. We are all healthy and together for Christmas. My oldest son has survived the war and we have him home. The interesting thing is that Christmas to me feels like Christmas again, being down and out financially, has allowed us to focus on the real meaning of Christmas, not the commercial aspect. A hard lesson for the boys but I think an important one. I am sure things will get better, so for now it is what it is.
Any ways please thank your Son-in-law for his service and sacrifice and we all here wish you a very Merry Christmas to you and yours and a Happy New Year full of great health, happiness and success.
Sincerely
Terry Sachetti

You’re the best, Jim!
As a former soldier, I know how hard it is to be away from loved ones at Christmas. That was such an awesome thing for you to do. I hope to be able to do things like that someday.
Christmas blessings to you and your family, to your son for a complete recovery, and to all the troops who will be away from their families this Christmas,
Kim H.
Tim :
Johnny is the youngest Santa I have ever seen!
Thank you Johnny and to your dad his buddies and your grandpa too!
Happy New Year! at HOME
Tim
Cynthia :
How wonderful to see that Baby Johnny is talking and thinking about others… and at such a young age.
I’m sure his Dad and Mom (like his Grandpa and Nana) are So Very Proud of him. And when he’s a bit older and helping others at holiday time, he can add a blanket and a pole to that nice box he found (or maybe get a bigger box) and make a tent in the living room; or, like we used to do, put up Dad’s old camping tent right next to the Christmas tree with sleeping bags and goodies. It might be a tight squeeze, but I’m sure Johnny’ll make plenty of room for his loved ones. What a fine young man he is…
Mike Paetzold :
Great video Jim. Love to see the things you have done for our troops and very glad to hear you will have the family together for Christmas.
Best wishes and Happy Holidays.
Ron Schmidt :
Hello Jim,
Please pass along our sincere thanks to your son-in-law and your daughter, his Iraq buddies, little Johnny, Nana and yourself for sacrificing of yourselves to care for others.
Abundant blessings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ,
Ron
Kevin :
Wonderful idea! Simply wonderful.
Thinking of others over himself at that young age.
It’s got to be because of his parents and grandparents.
Thank you for the inspiring video. It really brightened my day.
Let Johnny know that we are keeping his daddy, his daddy’s friends, and all the other service men and women in our prayers.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Robert :
This is for Terry who had trouble with getting his website up and running.
Not sure I can help but if you contact me, we can talk about getting you operating.
Don’t know if I am safe to put my email here or not…
I already get flooded with spam to the tune of 5000 to 6000 a day.
Oh well…. bluewatercool@bluewatercool.com

You brought tears to my eyes.

Hi,
I always love your stuff - so heartfelt and real. You’re one of the few marketers whose emails I have not unsubscribed from. Thanks for a lovely Christmas uplift - your presents to the soldiers are delightful! I hope Jonnnie’s dad heals soon!

What a fabulous idea! I bet their favorite part of opening those little bags will be all the love that comes pouring out.
My son is in the army - stationed in North Pole, AK. Striker trained, he will be one of the next soldiers sent overseas.

We love you all!!!

Jon Walker :
Jim,
Glad to hear Jon will be able to make it home in time for XMAS and wish him best of luck with his recovery.
Every year around the holidays our two boys help put together a care package to be sent for the troops. The effort helps them realize not everyone is able to be at home with their family this time of year and to appreciate the sacrifice made by the troops.
Looks like you guys put together something that is sure to bring a smile to a lot of soldier’s faces.
Take care and have a good XMAS,
Jon Walker

Jim,
What a great Christmas video! What an awesome grandson! And what a wonderful mentor he has in you!
And what great members you have that offer to help a floundering website hopeful that got hooked up with such an unethical person on the net.Hackers broke into my website and destroyed it completely. After the shock,I had to start all over, and it’s taking me a year, but almost recovered.I hope someone can help him.
Terry,hang in there,goodness will prevail.
Thank you Jim for your hard work and efforts in producing one of the best newsletters online.
A blessed and happy holiday season to all!
Kerry :
Great News & Video!
Just wanted you to know that the military called for a donation soon after your son-in-law’s accident. I almost hung up because I don’t like telemarketers. I’m glad I didn’t. I immediately thought of you and my friend’s navy son which inspired me to quickly make that donation.
God Bless Our Troops!
Kerry
Terrie Wurzbacher :
That’s just phenomenal Jim, congratulations and thanks for caring so much about all those guys and gals.
it’s been a long time since we’ve heard you be so happy so it sounds like things are finally on the up and up for you and your family! You all deserve it.
Tell Jon (and his wife) how much we appreciate their sacrifices.
Happy Holidays to you and your family and thanks for all you do for us, Jim
Terrie

Dear Jim and Family
I was so glad to see the video of little Johhny and you and all the presents for the troops in Iraq. It was great news to hear about Jons progress and that he will be home for the Holidays.
I want to say to everyone on this list please support our troops and hope that most of them can be out of harms way by the end of 2008.
In the meantime there are men and women serving our country who will celebrate Christmas or some other Holidays in 2007 that won’t be able to celebrate the Holidays in 2008
So lets all make sure we send them all the very best Christmas we can.
My Very Best Holiday Wishes You and all of your Family Jim
Jim, Thanks for being there for us too.
Steve Knorr
Rob Wheeler :
Jim,
Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you son-in-law as he goes through recovery.
What a great idea, and follow through, you grandson had!
AS a side note… We can make it “Christmas” throughout the year by adopting units and seeing that some of the gifts you sent continue… phone cards being the big one… everyday there are Birthday’s for those in country as well as their loved ones here at home.
He’s the reason for the season…
Merry Christmas,
Rob
