How can I write my ebook FAST?
Let’s face it. Writing an ebook sounds like a lot of work to most people. Why? Because writing a “book” is something most people see as a big job. But, with some strategy, writing an ebook is actually relatively easy and simple. One key: stop thinking in terms of “writing” your ebook and start thinking of “creating” your ebook. That simple mindset shift can make all the difference in the world, no matter what your skill level.
I’ve personally used over 10 different ways to create ebook content in the past. Here are 4 of them you can use immediately.
1) Write Out Your “eBook”
For some people, sitting down and writing their ebook represents the best option. They can sit at their computer and type it out consistently in a series of sessions. This requires the least amount of resources. You can write an ebook with nothing more than a good idea, an outline, a computer, and a word processor.
2) Talk Out Your “eBook”
Come up with an outline. Grab a microphone or jump on a teleconference and talk about your topic for an hour or so. Get the recording transcribed and PRESTO – instant ebook content. This “talk it out” option works very well for anyone how feels intimidated by writing, but still has a story to tell. Anyone can use freeconferencing.com to record a teleconference. If you want to record your thoughts directly to your PC, the free program “Audacity” (audacity.sourceforge.net) makes a great option. Either way, come up with an outline of your talking points and “git r done!”
3) Existing Material
Many people who decide to write an ebook have written other “stuff” in the past. Articles. Special reports. White papers. Whatever you’ve written may well form the basis for your first (or next) ebook. Take any existing material you’ve written and look at how you might combine it, expand it, or shape it into an ebook-length publication. Even if it just helped you get done faster using one of the other methods, existing material should never get overlooked – especially when you’re trying to get done quickly.
4) Interview eBooks
One of the fastest ways to get an ebook created is to simply interview others. Interview experts on any given topic and compile the content into an ebook. Either interview the experts over the phone, live an in-person, or via email. Either way, you simply suck the knowledge out of their heads (in exchange for publicity, payment, or a copy of the interview) and turn it into your written ebook content. CAUTION: whatever you do, don’t think you’ll interview a bunch of people about Internet Marketing and get rich – it won’t happen!

Write Ebooks: Is it possible to write an ebook based on notes from other books?
This is a sticky area for a number of reasons. If you take notes on another book and then write an ebook based on what you learned, you run the risk of everything from alienating the author to opening yourself up to a lawsuit for violating “fair use.” (Side note: it’s interesting that use and sue have the exact same 3 letters). Though I’m not an attorney, this is not legal advice, and you should proceed with this information at your own risk, here is my take on this thorny question of whether you can use notes from other books to write your own ebook.
Option #1 – Don’t do it!
Don’t use notes from other books to write your ebook… then you have nothing to worry about.
Option #2 – Document and Cite
Treat the ebook like a giant research paper where the biggest, meanest, most sadistic English teacher on the face of the planet is poised to kill you with her ruler if you make a single mistake. Over-document as to all the sources you use, and have more footnotes than actual text in the ebook. Despite all that, you still might not pass the “fair use” test.
Option #3 – Write From Experience
If you’re writing a “how to” book, here’s what you do. Read, research and investigate to your heart’s content. Then actually go DO what you want to write an ebook about. Do it as fully and to the best of your ability as you can. Make all the mistakes, discover all the pitfalls and figure out what REALLY works in the real world. Then, and only then, write an ebook on your direct experiences and the results you produced through taking action.
When you write an ebook this way, citing the books you first read as your original research is easy because your action and results put you on par with those original authors. You can say which books you liked, which books you agree with and, through experience, which ones you found missing some key ingredients or steps. You’ll also feel a high level of confidence in your material and that will be reflected in your marketing and promotion of the ebook because you’re not worried about being perceived as a copy-cat!
Overall, I’d say that writing an ebook strictly from notes you’ve taken from a single book or a handful of books carries more potential risk than reward. At best, you’ll be viewed as a “me too” author and, at worst, you could get into a pot of hot water that no amount of sales could compensate for. If you’re going to write an ebook, create something original and personal you can be proud of and KNOW adds value to the world instead of leeching off the intellectual property of others!

Write Ebooks: How do you write an ebook quickly? (4 Methods)
Everybody wants what they want and they want it NOW. If you want to write an ebook, you don’t want to take a year to do it. A week would be nice — and a day or two would be even better (thank you very much)!
So if you want to write an ebook FAST, you need to understand a key point: you must think in terms of “creating” an ebook VS “writing” an ebook. If you haven’t done it before (or even if you have), writing a “book” is a big, scary task that smacks of pain, suffering, and a lot of WORK!
But, when you think in terms of “creating” an ebook, it opens up a LOT of different avenues for you in your own mind.
The following 4 (four) methods are PROVEN to help you create original ebook content FAST. Choose the one that’s right for you.
1. Write as much as you can in 15-20 minute spurts. Even just 1 session a day will help you write your own, original ebook faster than by virtually any other method.
2. Make an outline of the points you want to cover. Do an hour-long teleseminar or webinar for a group of friends or business associates, record it, and have it transcribed. Use the transcription as your ebook.
3. Gather up the 15 or 20 most important questions your target audience is asking and answer them in an interview style format. Record the interview and have it transcribed.
4. Take those same 15-20 questions and, instead of recording audio, just answer 1 per day (M-F) for about 15-20 minutes in your word processor.
Note about transcriptions: idictate.com is a great way to get transcriptions done without hiring someone or signing contracts, but it’s not the cheapest (but it is the easiest).
BIG SECRET TO SUCCESS: No matter which method you choose, the key is to do a little each day and build momentum, rather than trying to climb the mountain all at once. If you haven’t done it before (or even if you have), writing a “book” is a big, scary task that smacks of pain, suffering, and a lot of WORK! But sitting down and writing a little bit each day is MUCH easier. Also, when you do it this way, your mind has plenty of time to think and plan when you”re not writing. So when you do sit down to write, your words and thoughts will flow much easier because your brain had time to put thoughts in order before writing.
Finally, doing a little bit each day will also help you build up your writing “muscle” — just like walking every day builds up your legs. Even after just a single week of doing it every day (writing or walking) you’ll find it much easier to get started and go longer and stronger as your confidence and competence soars.
Doing a little bit each day rather than trying to do it all at once is probably the most important and useful tip I could share with you if you’re serious about writing your own good, original ebooks quickly!
