Personal Update

I had an attack of atrial fibrilation (a really bad one) on Friday… that means the top part of the heart beats so fast the bottom can’t keep up… if it goes on for very long you can get a blood clot that can travel through your body and do some serious damage.

What makes this really odd is that I understand Tony Blake, a well-known marketer from the Tony Blake Forum at www.ablake.net/forum had an attack of the same thing on the same day :-(

Very odd indeed and we need to send our prayers out for Tony’s speedy recovery.

The condition is brought out by stress and lack of rest…. and it gets worse as you get older.

This is the worst attack I’ve had in more than 5 years.

It was very sobering to sit there in the emergency room with tubes sticking out of my veins and about 2 dozen wires hooked to my body.

All the travel lately, stressed out over all the stuff I have to do (and planned to do), combined with the worry over my sister in-law having a heart attack last week just kind of came to a head this past week.

My doctor says no travel for a month and I need to take it very easy (not a bad deal since he said video games are ok)… so I had to cancel a trip to the World Internet Summit LA and a trip to Atlanta.

What made it a little scarier was that we are over here at the new house and didn’t know where the hospital was… but our neighbor hauled us up there lickety split… faster than an ambulance could get to us way out here in the country.

God and I have come to an understanding… I’m gonna work in a less stressed manner and smarter… and I’m gonna stop to smell the roses a little more than I have been.

Anyway… that’s what happened to me this past weekend.

On a happier note… my sister-in-law, Evelyn Kirby, is recovering at home from her heart attack :-)

Thanks everyone for all the prayers and support… it REALLY helped and we’re very grateful.

Have a great week!

Jim

Jim…

Interesting to hear about our similar occurances!… Glad also to hear that you are okay and on the mend…

I’m back home after my little “affair” — I didn’t get A-Fib but instead “SupraVentricular Tachycardia” which ran for almost 6 hours before I was cardioverted (shocked) back into normal rhythm (I hadn’t had an episode in over 7 years as I had an ablation back in 1999)… not a fun way to spend Friday… they kept me in the hospital overnight for observation…

Thanks for the kind thoughts… it’s a small world when two known marketers have something similar happen on the same day!… next time we see each other we’ll have to compare notes…

Take care and feel well… lay low, have fun and work less… ;-)

Success!!!

Tony Blake

Jim, take care. Wish you great health! This is the most important thing.

Aloha Jim,

Please take care of yourself.

A couple years ago I bought the book “Excuse Me Your Life Is Waiting!” on your suggestion. It was a great book and changed a good deal of my life.

Maybe you need to buzz a bit more and let go of that other stuff.

When you are well you can come to Atlanta and go to Hooters with Brad Fallon and I! (Shhhh! Don’t tell the wife!)

Aloha,

Hi Jim,

I’m pleased to hear that you’re going to be okay. Our thoughts and prayers are with you! Please get lots of rest and pace yourself… business success ain’t so much fun without the good health.

Warmly,
Carmen : )

We’ll just add you to the prayer list

Jim,
Glad to hear you’re on the mend. Take time to recover and like you said, “smell the roses”.

There will be plenty of time to work in the future if you just take care of yourself now.

Best wishes,
Bruce Arnold

Hi Jim

Sorry to hear of your illness. I hope you and Tony get well quick. There’s not too many of us Internet “Old Timers” left.(LOL)

Take Care

Jim:

Hi! I am so glad to hear you are doing better. It is a scary thing I know, but if less stress and rest is what you need please do so. We love having you around! You have taught us great things, but knowing of your illness, we would rather you take care of yourself. :0)

I have a saying I took from Richard Carlson, PH. D. that I truly love and use …

“Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff…and it’s all small stuff.”

grace and peace,

Hey Jim,

If you haven’t learned this yet, let me just reiterate: :)

Slow way down, and quit stressing about more, more, more.

It’s hard to break out of the more, more, more mentaility, but it’s a must!

There’s nothing in this world worth losing your sanity and health over – nothing. Not even another ebook project or seminar! ;-)

Inhale those roses – a lot!

Take care, man.

Jim,

it sounds like it’s time to take a breather for a little while. No harm in that, but there might be harm if you don’t. The last workshop pushed you pretty hard, not to mention what you encountered upon getting back home.

All the best and please take care,
Michael

Hey Jim,

Glad to hear you are going to take it easy for a while.

You deserve to relax.

That’s a lesson I still need to learn.

One of the great things about having a primarily residual, internet based income is that you do have the ability to “take a month off” without having to worry about your income taking a month off too.

Get well soon buddy!

Hi Jim,

Hope you have a speedy and full recovery. Make sure you come back again stronger than ever!

Oh yeah, re-read ‘Lazy Man’s Guide’… ;-)

Get well soon!

Jim,

Glad to hear you’re doing better.

I’ve suffered from Atrial Fibrillation myself, and I know exactly what you’re going through. Please drop me a line if you want to compare notes. There’s some simple things I do that have helped keep the thing at bay for a long time.

Stay well and rest up!

Regards,

Neal
