Good points Jim...

I should have asked about this in my initial post, but is there a strategic business reason for online entrepreneurs to use their own servers for data collection (like you do with ARP3), as opposed to using one of the many 3rd party options such as Aweber and GetResponse? I think Mark mentioned he uses Aweber, and it got me wondering why a small handful of super successful guys like you and John Reese choose to use your own in-house auto-responder.

What's the rationale behind that? (I promise this was my
last question! -- But I think it's one a lot of people have wondered at one time or another)

In the "real world" most people give real data if they genuinely want the information you're offering...

But in the IM world, people WILL give the complete dataset... I do it all the time :-)

Hi Jim,

The #1 question I wish you'd asked... how does Mark know if people are quite literally entering in "official" looking contact information that's actually fake? I do recall him saying they don't scrub any of their lists. I'm also assuming that in the IM niche, the primary reason he doesn't try and collect a complete "dataset" is because hardly anyone would give out that level of information? I agree, collecting a complete dataset makes a lot of business sense, I just wish Mark would have elaborated on what percentage of the dataset information he collects is later deemed to be garbage.

I have NO intention of selling any of the leads I've already generated... though in the future, in some niche markets, I plan to do just that!

Jim,

I hope you are not going to start selling your opt in list names?

I just got off a bunch of lists and would hate to start all over again :)

Thanks,
