Does a home computer have to be &quot;on&quot; or must it be in &quot;standby mode?&quot;  Can it be awakened remotely?  That&#039;s one thing I&#039;ve not been able to find out about.  It doesn&#039;t seem likely that they can be accessed when they&#039;re off, but then I don&#039;t claim to understand how OS work anymore. 

Sometimes I yearn for the DOS days when everything ran on floppies.  Well, okay, only sometimes -- when XP is making me crazy.</description>
