Jim’s Trashy Christmas Display

Here’s a holiday classic video we’ve brought back by popular demand!

I’ve not done this in a while… in fact, in all honesty:
  • - We moved from this house because of the shame I brought on the family with this spectacle…

  • - My wife has forbidden me to purchase any blow-up ANYTHING for the rest of my life…
So, in the interest of saving my marriage, these types of Christmas decorations are but a fond memory for me (sniff)!

Oh well… HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Jim

PS – Here’s a simulcast I did with Mike Stewart a couple of years ago + the classic "I Don’t Want A Big Fat BUTT For Christmas"

PPS – Here’s the one I did the year before :-)

It’s pretty cool to see how far we’ve come with video in just a couple of years!

Was fun to watch. We are sending you a picture from our neighborhood that gives your yard a BIG run for its money!
Oh well, back to work! Happy holidays and wonderful new year. Suzanne and Dan

I’m excited to see it… I’m actually a little depressed Terri won’t let me do this anymore :(

Jim, here in central Florida I thought I had seen some red-neck christmas decorated yards but yours is a marvel of overstated class. The only thing that is missing is an assortment of fart sounds playing a nice rendition of jingle bells. Also a couple of old derelict toilets and a bar-b-que that burns used tires would be a nice touch. What in the world is wrong with your wife, has she no class?

Hi Jim,

Thanks, that was great, I remember receiving the original video, seeing it again is even better! I’m sorry you’re not able to do it again, you could ‘downsize’ like I did to a tiny Christmas Village?

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year,
-Brett

I just can’t see this enough. I’ve seen the blow-up decorations in years gone by but–like “A Wonderful Life” it just needs to be seen again and again.

December 23, 2009

Jo Ann,

LOL – too funny :-)

I hope you have a great holiday… it was really wonderful hanging out with you on The Jim Boat – you’re a real gem!

Jim

Hey Jim,

Great to see the whole lineup this year!

Now I’ll bet there are parents getting their kids BB guns for the Holidays, just because of your display!

Have a great 2010!

Charles,

I think my wife was worried that I would bring down the property value… go figure :D

Jim,

You are “Trailer Trash” :-) Absolutely hilarious. I just showed my 6 yr old daughter the video and she said “This Guy Isn’t For Real”. Too which I replied “You won’t come across a more real Guy”

Hope you have a good Christmas and all the best to Terri.

Take Care

Stephen

Jim,

I love your classic video – each time I watch it I laugh when I think of a little guy hearing you answer as he’s waving to Santa :) I hope you and your entire family have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

Gail

P.S. I also love the snow globe . . . . we don’t have a home owners association in my neighborhood – I think I could get away with it!

December 23, 2009

Very entertaining videos, Jim. I can’t wait to see what you’ve got for next year!

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! :)

Wow Jim,

Have you given a lot in the past years. Looking at those video’s reminded me of when I first started and how far you have come. The Holiday’s I believe are a time to express our thanks to those that have helped us make a difference in this world, so I do want to share a HUGE THANK YOU! to YOU in helping people like myself to be able to make that difference.

Giving you and your family…

jim I have to say that your yard takes the cake!
Have a happy and health holiday season!
P.S. Thanks for all the great IM stuff this year!!!

December 23, 2009

At least you have an excuse— it was 5 years ago! Our neighbor has at LEAST 6 different themes for Christmas in his yard. A elf merry-go-round, a nativity scene, a reindeer grouping, a group of presents that flash on/off, some “thing” on his roof – not sure what it is, a waving santa and rotating tree in one front window.

He’s an electrician so you can imagine the # of lights. BUT it makes me laugh and smile each time I walk by.

Merry Christmas!

December 23, 2009

Jim,

This was hilarious. I’m just surprised you aren’t selling those blow-up decorations. You’d probably have sold a ton. lol.

Wishing you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Blessings,
Leah

WHAT? No pink flamingos?

*SIGH*…

Merry Christmas, Jim!

Screw the wife, bring back Christmas! Do it for the grandkid! Just kidding… The blow up toys remind me of a house in Olathe KS that always has their back and front yard FILLED with blowups for Christmas. Whatever happened to those cheesey plastic illuminated Santas and Frosty’s like my grandmother used to put in her yard? Anyways, thanks for sharing the fun video! Merry Christmas!

Jim
P.S. What’s the name of that hunting website you and your son in law were gonna do on whitetails? I heard you mention it one time, and I forgot the name of the website. Thanks!

December 23, 2009

Heya Jim

I remember these videos when you first did them. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

You have always been cutting edge and professional, even just notice the difference between the first, was it the 2004 video and the 2005 video. You used a wireless mic, lots more post processing with text overlays.

We don’t have any blow up Christmas decorations like that in Australia that I’ve seen. But I’m going to try to find some.

Thanks
Aaron

December 23, 2009

Which neighborhood did you say you live in again? Just in case we want to avoid, I mean move to, someday?

Any chance I can use your videos on my blog to amuse my visitors? Of course, you would get full credit as I certainly wouldn’t want anyone to think I had your particular, uh, shall we say, “artistic” talents.

Keep up the great work. Heck! Christmas should be fun!!!!

December 23, 2009

That really is classy trash, a little lighthearted fun never did anyone any harm. Nice work Jim!

Stew

Hey Jim,
I echo the other sentiments expressed here. While I wouldn’t get te giant santas or frosties, the snowglobe is especially cool:) thanks for sharing the holiday spirit. I hope you and your family have a wonderful year in store for you.
Best regards,
Stew

December 23, 2009

I love the snowglobe – where do I get one? LOL

re: Stephen Fasenfeld:

HE LIVES!

Holy Cow dude… where have you been?

Merry Christmas buddy… don’t be a stranger in 2010.

Looks like I’m doing a workshop in UK again this coming year… this time in York… stay tuned. I want you there!

Jim

December 23, 2009

Tell you what… based on all these comments I’m going to tell my wife that I have to get some more of these and do it next year… my subscribers insist on it… “Honey, I can’t disappoint the folks!”

Merry Christmas everybody… I’ll have another cool vid for you tomorrow :-)

Jim

okay, that was your friend, this is for you: Dear Jim, I have a slogan Fun First! and on this one you rate big time. Definitely lots of fun. Are these things really 12 feet tall? Please, have a wonderful holiday season, turkey, presents, kids, friends and Fun First.
All the best, Carol White

Hi Jim,

As always, you’re a man after my own heart. I really like the snow globe, as you did, more than all the others. Still, the setup was great and I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been outvoted by your wife and neighbors! If my wife were still alive, she’d be cheering you on (and very jealous!). She loved all of that, as well as the cutouts, huge lighted star, etc. Our house used to look like Las Vegas at Christmastime.

Your friend,
Steve

December 23, 2009

Yo Big Jim,

I actually wish you did live next door to me so I could help you put that stuff up!

I’d also love to sit in a chaise lounge, next to Frosty, and sing Christmas carol’s, loudly and out of tune, while hoping your neighbors would bring me some boiled custard!

You rawk!

December 23, 2009

Jim a very Merry Christmas To you and YOurs,
How is your son in law doing?

Happy new year from California
Bob

December 24, 2009

Hi Bob,

Thanks for asking… Jon is finally medically retired from the Army… just this past month… so after over 2 years that is finally over.

Happy New Year to you and everyone!

Jim :D

Thanks for the chuckle-Merry Christmas to You and Your Family.

I was going to send you a red/white flowered Hawaiian shirt but someone said you already had one.

Hey Jim!

Do you know about QVC’s blowup specials when they do Christmas in July? It’s really cool! You could add Grecian columns around the front door and all kinds of yummy stuff. Seriously. You’ve got a great thing going there and you can’t stop until cars are lined up for blocks just to see it. Or maybe the police come . . . I’ll be sure to get in touch when the shows come on next summer.

By the way, thanks for a great cruise! It was life-changing. All week long I had little explosions happening in my head and smoke coming out my ears. Incredible. I came home and had to go to bed at 8 o’clock every night for a week, I was so exhausted. Thank you.

Victoria

December 28, 2009

I give my deepest thanks to your wife!

December 28, 2009

Cheers Jim,

Great videos and the health stuff too.

At the end of the day one can’t enjoy all
that dosh if one is unhealthy.

Keep fit Jim

Hey Jim,

Send me an email to let me know more about the gig in York next year, what its about etc (you have my email address). I presume you are doing it in conjunction with Peter as that is his neck of the woods.

I have been keeping a low profile the last couple of years. I have stopped going to seminars and am just putting things into action. The last 6 months have been good so I expect 2010 to be really excellent. Drop me an email and I will give you an update. Hope Christmas was good to you.

Regards

Stephen Fasenfeld
