Hi Jim,

Good video. Kompozer is the best free desktop WYSIWYG editor out there, especially for beginners.

I got started online with the free version of MS Frontpage (called Frontpage Express) that you got with Windows 98, but they withdrew it from XP onwards. It was very similar to Kompozer.

I think the one thing that still trips most newbies up is getting their files online.

Thanks, Jim.
I use Frontpage98, which I bought upteen years ago.
But I appreciate the reference to Kompozer and the wonderfully clear tutorial. Now I have a resource I can recommend to my students.

That was a great tutorial. I’ve used Kompozer for editing templates, but didn’t have a basic understanding of how it worked.

Thanks,

Debbie Lattuga
Love this video series, btw

This is what we want!
What’s actually involved in creating something on the Internet.
What you need to know and how to do it.
For some time now, i have been researching information on Internet Marketing and information products etc.
2010 is the year i actually do something with it. Make things happen and appear on the Internet by me.
The emails and videos you supply are exactly what i want.
NOT other peoples selling product after product (which i never buy, i’ve bought yours thou) and the motivational ones.
Tont Robbins is the best, (look out for Eban Pagan stealing his crown) but if he sends me one more inspirational video, i am going to……!!! Never thought i would say that about Tony.
I am tired of being a follower to theses people, i want to be a leader and authority of my own. Thank you Jim For being a top guy.

I have a basic sales letter i got along with a PLR product that i want to test the water with. I can alter the sales letter, do i us Kompozer for that then?
Yeah, sounds like a real stupid question!!!

Thanks again…

I find it quite easy to just copy and paste the source code from a template and then adjust it as needed, or sometimes I even type the html myself from scratch. I know I’m doing it the old-fashioned way, but this tool you just showed us will certainly help alot of people.

For someone who is trying to figure out how to get a page online this thing looks great. But I still think it would be prudent for anyone using this method to go ahead and learn how to write html anyway. It’s really not that hard, and if you’re working on the web putting up pages or building websites you will need to know this eventually.

One question about that software that I just thought of is meta-tags. Is it possible to insert other tags besides the page title?

Hi Jim, – Will give this Nvu / Komposer a try,- and thanks. – Have been following You for over 6+ years,- back when You lived in a small house and was just starting out. I $wasted my Time & Money on all the other so-called GURU CRAP before coming across this honest sounding fella named Jim Edwards! Went broke, and never made 1 cent. – Finally back, and have another 2-sticks to rub together again. Guess us “DEAMERS” will never learn. – Will let You know what happens this time around. – Joe (old-ward32) (ReFidolize) (gorillas-dont-cook)

The FTP information was very helpful to me. I’ve been using Filezilla and have had nothing but trouble with it. Now the process makes sense to me. Big relief for me.

Thanks big time.

Thanks for this video! I needed to see this done because I learn some things better by seeing.

Great tutorial, Jim. Thanks.

Hi Jim,

Great video.

I think short, to the point, mini-site sales letters with “Twitter like” sentences and bullets are going to be the next wave of selling on the web.

It’s going to follow the formula of:

1) What do you have?

2) Why do I need it?

3) How do I get it?

The marketers that can do that in the fewest amount of characters and words will win.

Thanks very much, that was very helpful. I like to try it out. How do I save on an external hard drive to refer to it and follow your tutorial one step at a time in slow motion? Thanks for your help!

Very nice tutorial Jim. I agree with you on the ease of use for Kompozer.

It’s the html editor I recommend for my coaching students.

The ‘new’ Front Page is Microsoft Expression Web and I also use Edit Plus (for php editing)…both have a slight learning curve but are easy to use…

Keep up the good work…I enjoy reading your info.

Hi Jim – good helpful video (straight to the point)
I used Kompozer for putting up my first website and I’ve now done 24 pages with photos of our German Shepherd dogs.
To all you people that haven’t put a website up yet, using Kompozer is the easiest way to go.
Yes it is daunting, but with ‘trial and error’ you will get it done!
Don’t worry about making mistakes – this is how you learn (and only you will see them at first anyway).
Nothing beats how proud you will be at getting your first site up on the web, so stop reading about it – just do it!
Jim, your videos are always helpful – keep them coming
regards

P.S. My pages are all indexed but not much traffic so now I’m learning about ‘backlinks’ and promotion.
P.P.S. Jim, something about web 2.0, blogging and social networking would be helpful

Thank you so much for this video. I do have a website, but it surely will be helpful for wordpress blogs. Aside of this, there were parts on your tutorial which will help to do certain things better.
Some marketers say that you need to get content on your pages, but I personally do not want to read too much. I just don’t have the time.

January 22, 2010

Hi Neil,

Glad you liked it :-)

Jim

January 22, 2010

It’s great to get started… but man, I still love FP 2003

January 22, 2010

Thanks John!

January 22, 2010

:D

January 22, 2010

Yes, you can use Kompozer for that… and then you need to upload it to your own domain and hosting.

Jim

January 22, 2010

Yes, you would go into the html view and insert those.

January 22, 2010

Sometimes older and wiser is what it takes… don’t believe the hype anymore and you’ll do it this time!

January 22, 2010

I’m a former filezilla person… this is better!

January 22, 2010

Me too!

January 22, 2010

You’re welcome!

January 22, 2010

Great summary!

January 22, 2010

This one is not really set up for download

January 22, 2010

Thanks, Ron :)

January 22, 2010

I will take it under advisement…. congrats on YOUR taking action… sounds like things are moving along for you :D

January 22, 2010

I think we just need a good mix with the most appropriate content that gets each job done… one medium is no better than another – just maybe more appropriate in various situations.

January 29, 2010

Hello Jim-San, Thank you very much for the show and tell video…this is a real help to anyone, who wants a basic , how to use this tool. Many people need the show and tell video, it is a much quicker process for learning…
