Ebook Security & ClickBank Affiliate Pop-Up’s
|
One of the things it seems get stuck in every affiliate’s craw is the use of pop-up windows on a merchant’s site… especially if it’s a ClickBank Merchant. I must get 2 emails a day from affiliates asking me to take down my popup window (which ain’t happening)! Below, I explain how a merchant using ClickBank can have a pop-up and also satisfy affiliates who don’t want popup’s on the landing page… but then I also explain WHY it is STUPID to do it and how one extra step by an affiliate would probably DOUBLE their success and everyone would make more money! In the second video, my dog, Smacker, hijacks the "JIMBOTron" in order to teach you the 3 basic ways you can secure your ebook against theft. It’s a light-hearted look at a very serious topic.. and I think you’ll enjoy it |

Hi Jim,
Great content. Gotta love that Smacker. Excellent idea about the no copy on the PDFs. Looking forward to the next newsletter.

I really enjoy, actually look forward to seeing your multimedia content! The Smackertron is really funny! (this may be a little weird, but I can’t seem to create any spaces between paragraphs?)
Anyways, Thanks!
Hi Jim,
Great article/video. You really drive home the need for affiliates to use landing pages.
Did you mean Adwords instead of Adsense for where the affiliates are using PPC though?
Have a super day!

Great article! I loved the SmackerTron! It was just in the nick of time too. I am fixing to release my first ebook through CB and I was wondering how to make it “safer” from thieves.
Thanks again for great content at the right time!

Hehe, am still rolling on the floor. That Smacker sure is one funny dude.
Great stuff, Jim. As always.
Cool stuff Jim!
Another thing I do is to use tracking links for the download links… this way I can monitor clicks and compare to website stats to see if something “fishy” is going on. If I think there might be, I can just change the re-direction to the new download page with a new tracking link.
Too bad you have to watch these things so closely, but the dweebs force it on ya’!
2 things:
1. YES… I meant AdWords… not adsense
2. That is a VERY good idea to use a tracking link on the download links to watch the number of download versus purchase… I LIKE that!
Thanks for sharing!
Hey Jim:
Publishing in pdf format isn’t as safe as it used to be…
There is software now that will convert a pdf file to word. I haven’t tried them but they are in plentiful supply free to download all over the internet.
Great tip though on moving your download url on a regular basis. Here’s another reason why…Google now indexes pdfs on your site and lists pdfs in their search results!
Yikes!

Jim,
That was really funny, especially the “Karma” part
JIM!
About a half an hour ago, I hit reply to the “2 minute survey” you e-mailed out last week, and in it, I requested more information on this very subject of protecting our online products from theft.
Ten minutes later, while surfing around on one of your sites: POW, right in the SMACKER!…I hit on your blog site and found some answers. Ask and you shall receive, I guess! (or maybe it was my good karma working its ways)…
Too, I was TOTALLY ENTERTAINED in that 6 minute presentation – that was incredibly funny and well presented. I love the creativity!
Thank you (and Smacker) for the fun scoop!
Dear Jim,
Can you please offer the option of READING these rather than having to listen to them? Not that I don’t like the audio/video – although smacker’s voice does wear a bit thin after a while – but I find it much quicker to read than listen.
Hey there’s a product idea, something that can help people listen faster!
The fact of the matter is though, I often pass up your videos because of time constraints. This is sad because I consider you one of the few marketing gurus who truly live by what they preach in terms of giving real value for money.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Michael Murray
Using PDF Security doesn’t seem to do the job anymore. Have you tried Lizard Safeguard? It encrypts your pdf files and allows you to control who views them and from where.

This week’s episode of "I Gotta Tell You" addresses 2 critical issues for anyone who publishes and sells information online (or who plans to in the near future).

Jim,
As always, great content that’s easy and fun to digest!
Now, go fetch!
