As you know, 10 days ago we finished up our now famous “30-Day Video Challenge” where we posted a NEW video here on my blog every single day for 30 straight days.
By actually DOING it in a real-world scenario (instead of making a couple of videos and then claiming “guru” status) we made some MAJOR distinctions…
… and I want to share those discoveries with you, free.
So, as promised, we’re doing a free webinar on Thursday, Feb. 25th at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.

We’ll cover:
- Specific video techniques that did and did NOT work during the 30-Day challenge…
- Specific video case studies (what’s hot and what’s not)…
- My specific video checklist that makes your videos rock every single time (including items you DON’T need, like BS green-screen effects)…
- Special Guest, Mike Stewart, will join us for a technical discussion…
… and Much, MUCH more!
Registration is free, but seating is limited.
Grab your seat on this fresh, new webinar that is guaranteed to open your eyes about the REAL deal with video (and why even non-techie folks like us can make great video fast).

You don’t need it for that… you can pull the video right off the Zi8 and put it into your editing software (though you may need to convert it to AVI first, depending on what you’re using to edit). You can convert those files to AVI using this free app:
http://any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
Once you convert it, you can pull it into pretty much any editor.

Yes, Jim. I know you can do that. But Mike’s sales page says it will let you use a separate mic, instead of being stuck with the one in the camera. But the camera he shows in his sales video is much more complicated than my little Kodak.
I do wish I’d seen that free converter program before I upgraded QuickTime to the pro version.
You only need the Video Capture Wizard if you are using a digital camcorder with a firewire connection (or USB) that would capture the video live to your hard drive and bypass the digital video tape. It won’t work with a flip or Zi8… you need a digital camcorder for it.
However, the Zi8 does have an external mic jack

Hi Jim
What specific camera and model did you use to shot the video on your on [the confirmation page]?
thanks Corina
I used the Kodak Zi8

Hello Jim & Mike! I have been a little slow to leave comments on the internet and I realize that I really should contribute back to two people that have provided so much education for me. You guys are absolutely right when you say that you make the seemingly complicated actually quite simple and do-able. Most of what I have been able to do on the internet to date has been the result of following one or the other of you two. Thanks so much for what you do…
Steven

Jim, can you or Mike tell me if his Video Capture Wizard software will work with a Kodak Zi6 video camera? There’s no firewire on the camera. It does have AV and HD cables. Will Mike’s software work with this cheap little camera?
