Explode Your Sales With Other People's Traffic

Ask virtually any website owner to name their #1 problem and
invariably it comes back to one word – "Traffic!"
How do you get more traffic to your website without breaking
the bank?
Well, the most immediate source for website traffic is
actually quite simple and it's called "OPT" – Other People's
Traffic.
Other people have the targeted website visitors you need
right now – you just need to persuade them to funnel some of
it your way.
Your mission is to find people who can refer you their
traffic either for a flat fee, as a trade for services, for
a commission, or on a pay-per-click basis.
The quickest way to find people to refer traffic is to take
inventory of who you know (and who they know) that runs a
site getting the targeted traffic you need.
Once you exhaust that list, go to the search engines and
search using the keyword phrases that would bring the ideal
prospects to your site.
Make a list of the websites that rank well in those searches
and approach them about a traffic deal.
Try to work all your agreements on a per-sale basis first so
you won't have to pay any cash up front.
They get paid only after a sale is made and you have the
money in your hand.
If they don't want to work a deal on commission, then you
should negotiate a pay-per-click deal.
This means you only pay when a visitor comes to your site.
However, make sure you closely track the visitors coming
from the site so you can spot any funny business (click
fraud) where the owner might try to inflate the actual click
through numbers to increase their commissions.
You have 4 choices for funneling another site's traffic to
yours: endorsed mailings, hover ads, text links, and
banners.
Endorsed mailings are the best way to funnel traffic from
another site.
A well-written endorsement letter by a list owner or
publisher with a good relationship with subscribers who can
buy from you is worth its weight in gold.
An effective endorsed mailing can result in traffic, sales,
and money in your pocket within minutes of sending it.
"Hover Ads" represent the next fastest way to funnel traffic
to your site.
When used incorrectly, hover ads create an annoying
distraction for web surfers.
Make sure your hover ads are relevant to exactly what
visitors want by providing focused content (and only showing
up once per session).
The next way to funnel traffic from other sites is trading
or buying "Text Links" – which simply means you get someone
else to link to your site from their site either by paying
them or linking back to them from your site.
TIP: Make sure you negotiate a high profile spot for your
link on the other person's site so you get maximum
opportunity for people to click through to you.
Banner ads are making a surge in the marketplace as a viable
traffic source.
Don't expect nearly the same click-through rate on a banner
as for a text ad.
However, banners can result in traffic if you only buy them
on a per-click basis or negotiate a very low cost per
thousand impressions ($5-10 to start).
When negotiating with other websites to steer some or all of
their traffic your way, make sure you create win-win
scenarios that make them want to work with you.

Who’s That Baby’s Grandaddy?
My grandbaby showed up today… and he’s a cutey… and SMART – MAN! This is one smart kid. Not even 2 hours old and he’s in the family business!
I’m in the hospital (Sunday night 8:01 pm)
I’m sitting here in the hospital waiting room waiting to meet my grandson… he’ll be born any time now
Hold the good thought!
Jim
Before You BASH! Don’t miss the point!
If you’re here to bash the Marlon video – read this first!
The point of sending you the information was NOT because I thought the video was so good… or to make you think it was a work of cinematic mastery!
The point of this post (below) was to show you a BRILLIANT SYSTEM for integrating an "outside the box" video into a marketing campaign.
If you want to make a comment, read the ENTIRE discussion below before you start chastising me about the quality of Marlon’s video… which WAS NOT the point of the post in the first place!
I never said the video was "excellent"… I said it was "BRILLIANT".
And NO – I’m not going to open up a debate on the meaning of the word "brilliant"
I said it was "brilliant" because Marlon was outside the box on this one and had the courage to try something different.
I said it was "brilliant" because it would spread like widlfire – which it will because it evokes an EMOTIONAL response (love it / hate it) I said it was "brilliant" because of the system he has in place to promote it.
Regardless of the category you fall into on the opinion polls, the BUZZ is now on about it!
In the email I sent out I said it was, and I quote: "This video he just released is whacky… attention grabbing… and just plain nutty… and even a little shocking in one spot"
I never said the video was "excellent" or that George Lucas should watch his back.
It’s "brilliant" because of what he did (thinking outside the box and trying something different)… the system he set up (tying it in with his affiliate program)… and creating a motivation for people to share it.
But… if the video doesn’t cut it for you, then the system falls apart.
The moral of the story? The lesson I want you to take away from this?
Two things:
1. Having a system like he’s got in place to spread the word is a BRILLIANT MODEL
2. The process breaks down if they video itself doesn’t make people want to share it.
The discussion I was trying to start was about the "system" – not the video itself… though the video is obviously a HUGE part of the system – as you’ll see in all the comments below. :-\
Jim
Marlon Sanders Has Lost It (and it’s Brilliant!)
My very good friend Marlon Sanders has lost it… and it’s brilliant!
This video he just released is whacky… attention grabbing… just plain nutty… and even a little shocking in one spot… but it’s also going to spread like wildfire for several reasons.
1. He made a really intriguing video…
2. He mkes it EASY for people to share the video…
3. He gives people a PROFIT motive to share the video (WIIFM – What’s In It For Me – motivation)…
I’d like to know what you think about this marketing method... so here’s what you do:
Step 1: Watch the video http://www.IGottaTellYou.com/marlon-lost-it.html
Step 2: Leave your comments, thoughts, ideas below in the comments section
Marlon has taken video out of the home-office and taken it to the streets…. brilliant!

New Life For Old Computers
– by Jim Edwards
© Jim Edwards – All Rights reserved

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
With computer prices dropping and CPU speeds doubling every
18 months, why doesn’t everyone have a new computer at least
every year?
Well, I have a theory!
I think a silent fear prevents most people from upgrading
their computers to take advantage of the latest technology.
I believe most people don’t get a new computer because they
don’t know what to do with the old one!
For example, I just bought a new laptop and desktop
computers and need to quickly figure out what to do with the
old ones.
Well fear not gentle reader, because you are about to
discover some very practical (and a couple of funny) uses
for your old computer.
* "Starter" Computer *
Every kid should learn how to use a computer, however,
investing a thousand dollars in a new computer and monitor
just so "junior" can crash it doesn’t rate a smart idea.
Give your old computer to your son, daughter, niece, nephew,
grandkid or whoever needs to learn basic computer skills
without worrying if they crash the machine.
* Give To Charity *
Believe it or not, a lot of people out there can’t afford a
computer and would be thrilled to get your older model.
School children especially should have computers to help
them with homework, research and all the other incredible
learning tools computers make available.
WARNING: Make sure to thoroughly wipe your hard drive data
before giving it away.
* Upgrade / Fix Another PC *
An old hard drive might make an excellent built-in backup
drive for your newer computer.
Also, you might be surprised how much all the little spare
parts (fan, power unit, cpu, motherboard) on your "dead"
computer could bring on eBay if you chopped it up and sold
them individually.
* Software Robot *
Many software programs can run unattended on a PC to perform
various tasks such as research, search engine submission,
and more.
Running that software on a "robot" machine in the corner can
save you valuable computing time by taking it off your
everyday work PC.
* "Field" Computer *
I’ve often wanted to take my laptop with me to the beach, on
the boat, or work on it in the car while my wife prowls the
local mall.
However, my fear of wind, weather and theft by using it
outside my home office usually prevents me from taking it
along.
Though not disposable, an older laptop used only for word
processing or similar tasks rates the "risk" of bringing
along in harsher conditions.
None of these practical uses appeal to you?
Well then take some of these "lighter side" uses for a spin.
PLANTER – That sturdy metal box is the perfect size for
petunias or starting your shade garden while waiting for the
spring thaw.
SPEED BUMP – Tired of people speeding through your
neighborhood well in excess of the posted limits? A well-
placed old Pentium II PC will slow them down!
Regardless of how you choose to use your old computer, don’t
set it in a corner and forget about it.
Put it to good use either for yourself or someone else who
could really use and benefit from it!
